Sustainable
Phenolic Resins
PetroFree™ Engineered Phenolic Resins, used in the manufacture of PaperStone®, RainStone™, and Overlays™ are made from natural substances like cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) as well as other sources that are quite alive, renewable, sustainable and signal a new, environmentally responsible approach to creating solid surfaces that emit no volatile organic compounds.
What to some might seem like waste, in reality becomes an incredibly versatile and powerful raw material for creating resins with superior tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, compressive strength, flexural strength, impact strength and flammability resistance.
And phenolic resins have an excellent, long-standing performance reputation. The fuselage of the storied World War II era British ‘Spitfire’ fighter aircraft was made from a phenolic resin and flax fiber composite.
With overwhelming evidence of damage being done to the Earth by overuse of synthetic and fossil based products, it is time to resurrect an old idea, blended with modern performance technologies to usher in a new era of environmentally-conscious, earth-friendly composites. Paneltech’s goal is and will be to design and manufacture the greenest resin systems possible.
